We are currently recruiting for a Sterile Services Technician vacancy. This is an excellent opportunity to join the business at an entry-level and receive world-class training to get you on to a defined career pathway.

Working Pattern

Full-time, 37.5 hrs per week on rotation basis:
Week 1: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at 13:30-21:30
Week 2: Monday-Friday at 7:00-15:00
Week 3: Monday-Friday at 13:30-21:30
Week 4: Monday-Wednesday, Friday-Sunday at 7:00-15:00

What is involved?

  • Ensuring the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
  • Rigorously checking, washing, laying up and packing sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
  • Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
  • Ensuring that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
  • Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.

  • Access to a Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant Apprenticeship! This is a 12-15 month fully funded programme studying good scientific practice for the Healthcare profession! It is universally applicable outside of STERIS! Completed on the job, you are given 20% of your working hours to study towards the qualification. Further apprenticeships are available throughout the course of your career!

Required Experience
